27 Febbraio 2010: Ruvido - Bologna.

27 February 2010: Ruvido - Bologna. 6th MEETING of the ZUCCHERO OFFICIAL FANS CLUB.
On 18 January our website gave our members the news they were waiting for: 27 February was the date of the 6th International meeting of the Zucchero Official Fans Club at the Ruvido club in Bologna. It was decided, along with Zucchero, who gave his full approval, to ask members which of Zuccheros songs they would like to hear. The most requested would then be played by Zucchero at the event. The result was chaos for our Internet servers. Thousands of requests arrived; we were reminded of songs which we had almost forgotten. It was going to be hard for Zucchero to fix the playlist. The 27th finally arrived (not for the salary but for the meeting!) and the fans, who had already started gathering in the morning, were welcomed by a beautiful, almost spring-like, sunny day. There were some technical problems causing the gates to open with some delay, but the unexpected wait was immediately rewarded with an exclusive showing of the original video of the concert that Zucchero organized for the victims of the Viareggio disaster. After the video came live music performed by Manuel Auteri with his band and Diva Scarlet: two artists from Bologna to pay tribute to and thank the hosting city. Next came music from the world of Zucchero. With the arrival on stage of the tribute band O. I. & B. the crowd began to hear more familiar songs. By now it was 8 oclock, time for the first surprise of the evening: Irene Fornaciari came on stage accompanied by O. I. & B., which at this point became the resident band for the entire night, and warmed up the atmosphere with a selection of her most famous songs including Il Mondo Piange presented at the recent Sanremo festival with the Nomadi. Irene said goodbye and O. I. & B. played a couple more pieces, but it was clear that the moment everyone had been waiting for had arrived: Zucchero was on the stage, again accompanied by O. I. & B., and he immediately kicked off in style with a set alternating between songs suggested by his fans e-mails and a number of covers from the classic blues repertoire. Another hour went by but it seemed much less. Next there was a short pause to allow Bugelli to take the stage. Hes an original musical story-teller from Pontremoli and a friend of Zucchero. Sugar, who in the meantime had been captured by fans for the customary photos and autographs, then came back on stage: the public was about to have another big surprise! Zucchero invited his fiends Maurizio Vandelli, Fio Zanotti and Dodi Battaglia on to the stage! The band was further enhanced with the addition of Mario Schilirò, Adriano Molinari and Max Marcolini. The result was a very long jam session, interrupted between one piece and the next by entertaining entractes with personalities appearing on stage to tell anecdotes and generally fool around. This was a really special gift for the fans who were able, for the first time, to take part in an evening in the company of the newly formed band Adelmo and his Sorapis. It had by now turned midnight and it was time even for friends to say goodbye, but on this night Zucchero was tireless. He said farewell to his stage friends and companions, but he remained; there were still some pieces left from that list sent by his fans by e-mail and he was determined to keep his promise. He played some more of his standards before dedicating more time to his fans for autographs and photos. Zucchero left the club at around one oclock, finally bringing the meeting to an end.
